We would like to introduce the new Main Board of the Association:



Dr. Hristo Trunchev - Novartis

Dr. Hristo Trunchev is General Manager of Novartis Pharma Bulgaria as of December 2012. He is coming from the Russian Federation, where he had been Commercial Director of Eli Lilly for Russia and CIS from January 2011. Prior Hristo was leading Eli Lilly Bulgaria as Country Manager for four years.

He is Doctor of Medicine from the Medical University in Plovdiv. He obtained his MBA from City University Seattle, Washington, USA.

Hristo is member of the Board of ARPharM May 2009- December 2010 and from December 2012 - current.



Mrs. Zoya Paunova - AstraZeneca

Zoya Paunova has a Master degree in Pharmacy and has attended business education courses in Yale, INSEAD, specialized programs in Britain, Sweden and USA.

Zoya Paunova has more than 20 years experience in Pharmacy. She joined ICI in 1992 and was appointed Country Director of AstraZeneca Bulgaria after the merger of Swedish Astra and British Zeneca in 2000.

Zoya Paunova is a Deputy Chairman of the Managing Board of Bulgarian Business Leaders Forum, member of the Council of Women in Business in Bulgaria, member of the Experts Council of Teach for Bulgaria.

Zoya is married and has two children.



Dr. Krasimira Chemishanska - Amgen

Dr Krassimira Chemishanska is the General Manager of Amgen Bulgaria since the opening of the affiliate in 2009. Prior to her appointment at Amgen Bulgaria, she worked at different management positions in AstraZeneca Bulgaria, the last one being Marketing Director.

Dr Krassimira Chemishanska graduated Medicine from the Medical University in Sofia and has acquired a MBA in General Management from the City University of Seattle and a Master Degree in Business Administration from the International Business School.

Since 2013 she is member of ARPharM Board, and since 2011 member of the AmCham Board of Directors.

In 2015 she is elected for a President of American Chamber of Commerce.


Dr. Metodija Chadikovski - Roche

Metodija Chadikovski MD, MBA, is General Manager of Roche Bulgaria since July 2010.

He used to work as surgeon before entering the pharmaceutical industry in 2000. Back then he joined Roche Macedonia. As the second employee in the Macedonian affiliate, Metodija Chadikovski worked in sales, marketing, regulatory and clinical operations. His talent and achievements made him move positions - from Medical representative to Business unit manager Oncology in the next 6 years. In 2006 earning the position of General manager of the newly opened Roche office in Montenegro, he started the business activities in the country and developed sustainable and agile partnerships with customers, business partners and colleagues. Then Metodija Chadikovski decided to take even more responsibilities and was appointed for General Manager of Roche Macedonia. In 2010 he came to Sofia to lead Roche Bulgaria. His knowledge and skills managed to solidify the leadership position of Roche on the Bulgarian pharmaceutical market and today even more patients have access to modern treatment of serious diseases like cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, anemia, etc. This is main priority and satisfaction of Metodija and his team – every patient to be treated with the Roche drugs he or she needs, because they have documented and proven benefits in the management of those diseases. After 17 years at Roche, Metodija’s main motivation is fully in line with the corporate purpose statement “Doing now what patients need next”.


Mr. Aurélien Breton - Servier

Aurélien Breton is the General Manager of Servier Bulgaria since 2015.

He has been working for over 15 years in the pharma industry, starting in Turkey for Sanofi. He held various position in marketing and sales both at local and global's level. Prior to Bulgaria, Aurelien worked as Servier's General Manager in Slovenia.

He is passionate by entrepreneurship and product innovation.

Aurélien is a life-science engineer by education completed by a bachelor degree in marketing. He is currently attending the executive MBA of INSEAD.

Aurelien is the father of 3 children and lives with his family in Sofia.


Dr. Krum Kasabov - Novo Nordisk

Dr. Krum Kasabov is General Manager of Novo Nordisk Pharma as of October 2005. He has more than 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical sector, where he has hеld different positions with increasing responsibilities. As a GM he is responsible for Bulgaria, Bosna and Herzegovina, Albania and Kosovo.

Dr. Krum Kasabov  is a medical doctor with a degree from the Medical Academy Sofia and holds a PHD of the National institute of pharmacology and pharmacy. He obtained his MBA from the University of Sheffield International Faculty, City College.

Married with two children.


Mr. Nikolaos Xydias – GSK

As of November 2015 Nikolaos Xydias is the new General Manager of GSK Bulgaria.

He joined GSK Greece in 2003 and has held various positions in the hierarchy and structure of the organization. Before joining GSK Bulgaria, he was Business Unite Director "Vaccines, HIV and rare diseases” in GSK Greece. Nikos is a proven leader throughout the years who acts with great passion in terms of strategic planning and realization of business goals in the organization.

Nikos Xydias was CFO of GSK Greece and has experience in this position in Serbia. He has numerous awards for excellence in Finance. Bachelor in Management and Finance from the University of Oxford Brookes, UK and MSc in Accounting and Finance from Manchester Business School, UK.

Married with two children.



Mr. Deyan Denev – Director of ARPharM

Mr. Deyan Denev is heading the Association of Research-based Pharmaceutical Manufacturers in Bulgaria since October 2003. He has a legal education from Sofia University and is an expert in pharmaceutical legislation and pharmaceutical policy. As Director of the association he is leading the advocacy activities of R&D pharmaceutical industry in Bulgaria on key issues regarding pharmaceutical policy, regulatory environment, intellectual property, pharmaceutical market development.

From Jan. 2008 till Feb. 2013 he is a representative of the pharmaceutical industry in the Transparency Commission, which is an appeal body for all piecing and reimbursement decisions in Bulgaria.
