Dr. Stamen Bankovski is the new Chairman of the Board of ARPharM
At a regular meeting of the General Assembly of the Association of the Research-based Pharmaceutical Manufacturers in Bulgaria (ARPharM), held on May 19, 2022, two new members of the Association's Management Board (MB) were elected.
Dr. Stamen Bankovski, director for Bulgaria, Romania, and Hungary of the pharmaceutical company Astellas, was elected Chairman of the ARPharM Main Board.
The other new member of the Main Board is Dr. Boryana Alexieva - Head of Relations with Governmental Structures, Institutions and Patient Organizations in Janssen - the pharmaceutical companies of Johnson & Johnson, Bulgaria.
The new figures in the management of ARPharM will continue the organisation's efforts in the direction of improving Bulgarian patients' access to quality, modern and effective medical treatment and will cooperate with all state institutions and patient organisations for the preparation of balanced policies to improve the healthcare system in our country.

Dr. Stamen Bankovski - Astellas Bulgaria
Chair of ARPharM
Dr. Stamen Bankovski, General Manager Astellas Pharma for Hungary, Bulgaria, and Romania. After graduating from Medical University in Sofia in 1995, he began a long and successful career in the pharmaceutical industry.
Gained extensive experience in various sales and marketing roles as well as market access and institutional work in several large international pharmaceutical companies. Since 2011 as General Manager, he has led several organisations of increasing complexity.
In 2020, he was among the founders of the Japan-Bulgaria Business Association and was elected vice-chairman of the association. In May 2022, he was elected Chairman of the ARPharM Main Board.
Dr. Boryana Alexieva - Janssen/ Johnson & Johnson
Member of the Main Board
Dr. Boryana Alexieva is the Head of Relations with Governmental Structures, Institutions and Patient Organisations at Janssen - the pharmaceutical companies of Johnson & Johnson, Bulgaria.
She has 25 years of experience in multiple areas of healthcare, including establishment of business for international innovative medical device and equipment companies in Bulgaria, as well as their implementation and management. She has also held various positions in the pharmaceutical industry and extensive consulting experience. Experience in government structures related to health economics and reimbursement, health care management, public health.
She is a doctor by education, graduated in mathematics, studied at Medical University of Bulgaria, holds a master’s degree in health care management as well.
